EssexConnects is a multi-partner collaborative project which was initiated in 2010 by four support and development agencies (CVS) in Essex. It has expanded and currently covers 8 districts in Essex, growing all the time.
The project provides a searchable online directory of voluntary and community sector services, accessible to the public, strategic partners, public sector, health commissioners and GPs. Through this, EssexConnects provides access to information, promotes the value of the sector and increases awareness of the diversity of organisations and services available.
The EssexConnects Directory contains details of charities, voluntary and community organisations, and some social enterprises, offering support to individuals and running activities throughout Braintree, Chelmsford, Colchester, Maldon, Uttlesford, Epping and Harlow. The Directory also contains information about county, regional and national charities whose services include these districts.
EssexConnects will also power a brand new social prescribing platform launching later this year for Mid Essex (Braintree, Chelmsford, Maldon) and NE Essex (Colchester, Tendring).
